Wolves are close to agreeing a £10million deal for Crystal Palace goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, and are set to offer him a four-year deal.
The England international has fallen down the pecking order at Selhurst Park since the arrival of Oliver Glasner, with Dean Henderson taking his No 1 jersey and spot in the side.
Henderson wore No 30 last season following his £15m move from Nottingham Forest but ended the campaign as the first-choice stopper at Selhurst Park.
After being sidelined with a hamstring injury, Henderson started 18 Premier League matches between December and May, while Johnstone featured in just four top-flight games following the turn of the year.
Johnstone had emerged on Wolves’ radar heading towards the transfer deadline, with Arsenal‘s Aaron Ramsdale also on their shortlist.

The 31-year-old is yet to make an appearance this term and is now nearing an exit with the Midlands side.
Wolves have been keen to bring in a new stopper toward the end of the transfer window. Jose Sa is the current No 1 at Molineux, but the Portuguese keeper conceded six at the weekend against Chelsea.
Ramsdale has been tipped with a departure this summer after losing his first-choice status at the Emirates, with Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta preferring David Raya.
Mail Sport reported Wolves had offered a loan with an option to buy last week for Ramsdale.
The offer came due to Wolves only having around £20m to spend this window.
Ramsdale, 26, has made 89 appearances for Arsenal since joining from Sheffield United in 2021 for an initial £24million fee.
The England international had enjoyed a strong debut season at the club and was named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year for the 2022-23 campaign.
Ramsdale lost his place in the Arsenal starting XI last season to David Raya and has remained Mikel Arteta’s No 2.

Aaron Ramsdale is also of interest to Wolves with the Arsenal goalkeeper looking for regular football
The 26-year-old is eager to play regularly again and has attracted interest during the summer.
Southampton have considered making an approach for the goalkeeper, while Arsenal previously rebuffed a loan offer from Ajax.
Newcastle had enquired about Ramsdale earlier this year but Arsenal’s asking price was then deemed prohibitive yet they are now considering lower offers to allow goalkeeper to kickstart his career.
The Gunners have lined up Espanyol’s Joan Garcia as his possible replacement.
