Wonderkid’s agent CONFIRMS Chelsea transfer

The agent of Cesare Casadei is in Rome to wrap up the Chelsea youngster’s transfer to Lazio.

The Italian’s time at Stamford Bridge is coming to an end. In the summer, head coach Enzo Maresca still managed to convince him to stay at Chelsea and fight for his place.

However, Casadei has seen his game time severely restricted under his former Leicester boss and a departure is now only a matter of time. The 22-year-old midfielder is expected to return to his native Italy shortly.

Seemingly the entirety of Serie A has been linked with a move for Casadei over the past few weeks, but one club in particular have really stepped up their pursuit in recent days.

Casadei on his way to Lazio

Lazio have been Casadei’s most active suitors, especially after missing out on Napoli’s Michael Folorunsho for the second time in six months, and they are now on the verge of striking a deal.

Casadei’s agent Francesco Faccinetti has shared a picture on his social media accounts of his arrival at Rome Airport and the clear intention of all parties is to finalise the transfer in the coming days.

According to Ben Jacobs, Lazio are ready to part with a fee in the region of €12 million for the midfielder, while Chelsea will retain a ‘significant’ sell-on percentage and thus benefit from any future sale of the Italian.

Casadei leaves Chelsea after making just 17 first-team appearances in two-and-a-half years. Despite promising loans at Reading and Leicester, he did not manage to consistently break into the senior side and he was not given a single minute of Premier League action by Maresca this season.

His transfer to Lazio could be wrapped up before the end of the weekend, with Casadei not having been part of the Chelsea squad that faced Man City.
