Yamal wants Barcelona to sign €175m superstar as Neymar SNUBBED

Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal has revealed that he would love to play alongside Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala.

The Germany international recently penned a long-term contract extension with Bayern Munich, with the deal reportedly costing the Bundesliga giants a staggering €120 million.

Musiala’s fresh terms also contain a future release clause worth a whopping €175 million, so it is fair to say that the 21-year-old won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.

Musiala has been in brilliant form this season and the fact that his contract talks with Bayern dragged on for quite a while had given some of his suitors hope of a potential deal.

Among his admirers are Barcelona, but the Blaugrana officially buried any faint hopes they had of signing Musiala when he put pen to paper on his new deal.

Intriguingly, head coach Hansi Flick isn’t the only certified Musiala enjoyer in Catalunya. In an interview with Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal has now revealed that he would love for his club to sign the German.

”Musiala, Neymar, Savinho,” Yamal replied when quizzed about the players he enjoys watching at the minute. He was then asked to choose one for Barcelona and surprisingly stated: ”You want me to say Neymar, but no: Musiala, who has a contract.”

In a different world, the two could actually be playing together right now. German media revealed last year that Bayern tried to sign Yamal in 2022 when he was just 14 but that the teenager ultimately snubbed the Munich outfit because he wanted to stay at Barcelona.

Bayern were reportedly ready to shell out €5m on Yamal, who now has a €1 billion release clause and was the subject of a €200m bid from PSG last spring.

In fact, Bayern recruitment chiefs Hasan Salihamidzic and Marco Neppe, who have both since left the club, even personally met Yamal’s representatives in Spain before it became clear that a transfer was impossible.
