Alan Shearer responds to Harry Kane’s first Bayern hat-trick as scoring record looks safe

Alan Shearer will be breathing a sigh of relief that his Premier League goalscoring record remains intact as Harry Kane continues to thrive in Germany.

Kane scored 213 goals for Tottenham before joining Bayern Munich over the summer, hindering his hopes of catching the Newcastle legend’s Premier League record of 260.

However the ex-Spurs man attracted praise from Shearer on social media after netting his first-ever hat-trick for his new club.

The Match Of The Day pundit wrote three clapping emojis in response to Kane’s picture with the matchball, which was captioned: “A new one for the collection! What a team performance.”

Kane’s hat-trick played a key role in a big victory for Bayern as they saw off VFL Bochum with a 7-0 win on home soil.

Speaking after the game, Kane said: “We played well today and had the right mentality.

“We made it look easy and had so much speed with the ball.

“Everyone was in top form today, it felt very good.

“I’m getting to know the team better with every game and things are going very well for me and for the team.”

This came after Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel heaped praise on Kane earlier this week, saying:

He said: “It’s a big thing, we took the skipper of England out of England.

“Anyone looking for a No9 would’ve been happy to have Harry in the team.

“He makes the team better and gives you what you want from a man.

“He can drop deep, turn, use speed of players around him, he can arrive in the box at the right time, he’s an excellent finisher and good penalty taker.

“I’m not sure what’s going on at other clubs but we’re more than happy that he finally took the decision and came to make us better.”
