Arsenal could make a surprise move for Lille striker Jonathan David when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.
The Gunners have had a frustrating start to the Premier League campaign and they are already nine points behind leaders Liverpool after 11 games.
The club need a huge turnaround to close the huge margin and reports claim that they could spend big on a new marksman in the New Year.
David has been linked with Premier League clubs for some period of time and he could be available on the cheap with his contract expiring next summer.
The Canadian has no plans of penning an extension with the French outfit and he could leave for a bargain price in the region of £20 million.
Arsenal have been monitoring his progress for a while and could make a swoop for his services as soon as the transfer window reopens.
David has been in superb form this term with 13 goals from 19 outings.
