Arsenal are reportedly favourites to sign Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres at the end of the campaign.
The 25-year-old signed for the Portuguese outfit from Coventry City last summer and he has been sublime for them.
The Swede has already amassed 36 goals and 14 assists from 39 games and he is expected to leave Sporting this summer.
Arsenal are leading the pursuit of the former Brighton man and they are prepared to meet the release clause in his deal.
Sporting are quite clear that they won’t negotiate on the price and Arsenal seem willing to pay his €100m buy-out clause.
Gyokeres would be a quality signing for the Gunners, who are currently lacking firepower in the centre-forward ranks.
Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus have failed to convince with their abilities and the manager has had to opt for other options.
The likes of Leandro Trossard and Kai Havertz have led the line in recent weeks, having started the season in different roles.
