Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike at the end of the season, according to Sky Sport Germany.
The Gunners are yearning for a regular goalgetter upfront and they are expected to spend big during this summer’s transfer window.
Ekitike has been identified as a top target, but they will have to pay a premium fee with Frankfurt reluctant to sell him for less than £67m.
The Gunners are not alone in the pursuit and could face competition from Arne Slot‘s side, who are likely to part ways with Darwin Nunez.
Nunez was the subject of interest from the Saudi Pro League last winter and he could be tempted to move to the Middle East later in the year.
Ekitike has had a fine campaign with Frankfurt. He has accumulated 19 goals and provided eight assists in all competitions for the club.
Frankfurt are 99 percent likely to sell him. They are expected to prefer a deal abroad rather than negotiating with a Bundesliga rival.
