Arsenal outcast could hold the key to Pedro Neto transfer

Eddie Nketiah could have a big part to play in Arsenal‘s pursuit of Pedro Neto.

The Portuguese winger is one of the Premier League’s most in-demand players and is expected to depart Wolves in the summer. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the 24-year-old will join a “very important club” in the upcoming transfer window.

The likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City and Man Utd have all been credited with an interest in the right-winger, though it seems that north London is his most likely next destination. The Gunners are desperate to add cover and competition for Bukayo Saka to their roster.

Neto won’t come cheap, however, with FootballTransfers revealing last month that Wolves will demand a club-record fee for him. Despite his injury struggles this season, Neto is set to be the protagonist of one of the summer’s biggest transfer stories.

Arsenal’s advantage?

Arsenal could have an unlikely ace up their sleeve in the race to sign Neto. That is because, according to TEAMtalk, Wolves hold an interest in Eddie Nketiah, who is struggling for game time at the Emirates.

FootballTransfers revealed on Sunday that the striker has been earmarked as one of three Hale End academy graduates to be sold this summer to help Arsenal generate pure profit, which will put to bed any potential Financial Fair Play concerns ahead of what is bound to be another transfer window of lavish spending.

Crystal Palace hold a long-standing interest in Nketiah, while Brentford have also recently joined the race and the 24-year-old would favour a move to the Bees. Fenerbahce are also keeping tabs on the striker’s situation, as exclusively reported by FootballTransfers.

It is Wolves’ interest, though, that will be particularly intriguing to the Gunners. Perhaps Nketiah can become something of a makeweight in their Pedro Neto pursuit to help Arsenal sweeten the deal.
