Arsenal are reportedly ready to spend €120 million on Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak.
The Sweden international will have three years remaining on his current contract at St James’ Park when the 2025 summer transfer window opens, and rumours of an exit have ramped up in recent days.
Eddie Howe is eager to retain Isak and it’s understood that the 25-year-old remains happy at Newcastle. However, Arsenal are interested in finalising a deal and the Magpies could be forced to sell if they receive a suitable offer.

Arsenal are reportedly monitoring Isak’s situation at Newcastle and the Gunners are ready to spend a club record fee of around €120m on the ex-Real Sociedad striker, according to Fichajes.
Benjamin Sesko, Viktor Gyokeres and Dusan Vlahovic are also being pursued by Arsenal as Mikel Arteta looks to sign a new number nine next summer.
Isak only has two goals in seven Premier League matches so far this season, but he netted on 25 occasions across all competitions during the 2023-24 campaign.
Chelsea have also been linked with a move for Isak in recent months, but the Blues remain interested in Victor Osimhen, while Nicolas Jackson’s impressive form and the presence of Christopher Nkunku means that a new centre forward may not be a priority in 2025.

What has Eddie Howe said?
Ahead of Newcastle’s 2-1 loss to Chelsea on Sunday afternoon, Howe was asked whether Isak is currently in contract extension talks.
“That’s a slightly more complex situation,” the Magpies boss admitted.
“Regarding contracts, I’m not involved in those discussions day to day. With Alex, he’s got a long contract anyway at the football club and we have to be really careful with our spending due to profit and sustainability rules. It’s not a clear-cut situation.
“We of course love him [Isak] and are desperate for him to stay at Newcastle for many years and score loads of goals for us. I don’t see a short-term issue with his contract.”
