The 24-year-old has enjoyed a sublime season at Fiorentina, netting 19 goals in 29 matches across all competitions, and he has attracted significant transfer interest as a result.

Kean will be available for €52 million this summer, due to a release clause in his current contract, and Arsenal are reportedly eager to bring him to north London amid their search for a new centre forward.

Mikel Arteta is desperate to sign a striker this summer and Kean has emerged as a possible alternative to the likes of Benjamin Sesko, Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyokeres in recent weeks.

Furthermore, the Italy international is “tempted” by the opportunity to return to the Premier League in 2025, according to CaughtOffside.

Kean joined Everton for €27.5m from Juventus back in 2019, but he only scored four goals in 39 games for the Toffees and he returned to Turin in 2021, following a productive season-long loan spell at Paris Saint-Germain.

However, he could be set to return to England this year, with Arsenal, Aston Villa and Tottenham expected to battle for his signature ahead of the summer transfer window.

What has Mikel Arteta said?

Arsenal’s interest in bringing Kean back to the Premier League follows their failure to sign a new striker during the January transfer window.

Injuries to Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus have left the Gunners extremely thin regarding forward options, and Arteta has admitted his disappointment at the club’s lack of winter transfer business.

Speaking to reporters following the end of the January window, Arteta said: “We had a clear intention which is always when a window opens to explore the opportunities to improve our squad with players that can make an impact.

“With players injured, we’ve been impacted and we haven’t achieved it. We are disappointed in that sense but as well we are very aware that we only want to bring certain kinds of players and we have to be very disciplined with that as well. I think that we were.

“It’s in the profile, a player that we believe can make us much better. Financially there is a lot of ways, a lot of things that we must stay in the lane that has taken us this far and from there try to improve.”
