Arsenal have been encouraged in their pursuit of their Aaron Ramsdale replacement, having also received a new offer for their backup keeper.

Ramsdale has been told he can leave the Emirates this summer for the right price, having seen Arsenal permanently sign David Raya, who ousted the England international as Mikel Arteta’s number one last season.

Arsenal have already reportedly identified potential replacements for Ramsdale if he does leave before the end of the month and claims in Spain have suggested that Las Palmas keeper Alvaro Valles could be one of the players considered.

Valles impressed with his ability on the ball as he helped Las Palmas avoid relegation in La Liga last season but the 27-year-old was not in the line-up for his side’s opening fixture of the new campaign due to the uncertainty surrounding his future.

Las Palmas captain Kirian Rodriguez admitted that his teammate could leave the club, saying: “He has a contract with the club and we have to treat him like everyone else. Las Palmas has made a decision and we have to part ways and come to an agreement.”

Valles himself spoke on his future too, saying: “We are watching the market. Whatever happens will be good for both parties.”

Ramsdale wanted by Premier League sides

The news would be a boost to Arsenal after reportedly receiving more interest in Ramsdale, amid a host of activity from Premier League sides.

While the likes of Bournemouth and Wolves have considered a late move for Ramsdale, Sky Sports claim that Southampton are now also preparing to make a loan offer for the 26-year-old.

However, Arsenal have so far been reluctant to sanction a loan move for Ramsdale, only wishing to permanently sell him, although they could be open to a deal with an obligation to buy.

Wolves are believed to have only offered an option to buy Ramsdale while Bournemouth also are unlikely to be able to match Arsenal’s price tag, thought to be in excess of €25 million.
