Marcus Rashford’s time at Manchester United appears to be coming to an end – but Bayern Munich are not one of the clubs he could move to.

That’s according to Christian Falk of CaughtOffside, anyway. The Sports Bild journalist wrote about the situation involving Rashford and the German giants.

The England international sparked speculation after a bombshell interview with Henry Winter published on X, formerly known as Twitter. In that he as good as admitted he wanted to leave United, the club he’s been at for 20 years.

“If I know that a situation is already bad I’m not going to make it worse. I’ve seen how other players have left in the past and I don’t want to be that person,” the 27-year-old said. “When I leave I’ll make a statement and it will be from me.

“When I leave it’s going to be ‘no hard feelings’. You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s me as a person. “For me, personally, I think I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps.”

United had seemingly briefed the media that they want to see Rashford leave the club next year, believing that his time at Old Trafford has run its course.

The former England international has registered 10 goal contributions in 24 games in the 2024/25 season so far, an amount deemed not good enough by fans and pundits alike.

Do Bayern like Rashford??

Clubs have been linked to Rashford, including ones in Saudi Arabia, but Falk has stressed that Bayern are not interested.

“Not True: That Bayern Munich are interested in Marcus Rashford,” the BILD reporter wrote in CaughtOffside. “Of course, he’s a good player but it would be too expensive a move. Bayern don’t have a free role on the pitch to ensure he’d be a starter in the first-XI.

“It’s true that Bayern are searching for a player who could operate behind Harry Kane and as a backup to the England international. That’s why the profile of Marcus Rashford would fit at Bayern Munich, but no – it’s too expensive!

“And, ultimately, if it’s too expensive for Bayern, it’s too expensive for the whole league. It’s a pity, but we won’t see Rashford in the Bundesliga.”
