Bayern’s striker shortlist revealed

Bayern Munich have several names on their shortlist as they look to bring in a new striker.

According to Sport Bild, Bayern Munich are considering a number of players as they look to bring in a back-up for Harry Kane this summer.

Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade, whose management has reportedly been approached by the Bavarians, is one of the players named in the article.

The report also mentions Mainz’s Jonathan Burkardt, who is said to have a release clause of around €20 million, and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, who could be allowed to leave for around €70 million.

Tim Kleindienst‘s name is mentioned as well, with the report pointing out that the Gladbach striker was linked with Burnley when Bayern coach Vincent Kompany was in charge in there.

The list also includes Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitiké, who would cost around €80 million, and Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres, who has a market value of €75 million and has been linked with several other top clubs.

A move for either of them would only be realistic if Mathys Tel‘s loan move to Tottenham is made permanent, with the Premier League side holding a release clause of up to €60 million.

Christopher Nkunku was heavily linked with a move to Bayern in January, but a deal didn’t materialise. However, it’s not out of the question that Bayern could reignite their interest in the Chelsea attacker this summer.

The report mentions Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola too, but also points out that he isn’t ideally suited to a lone striker role. Arguably, the same can be said of Nkunku.

Finally, Italy international Moise Kean is mentioned, though the report claims that Bayern are concerned about the Fiorentina striker’s consistency.
