VfL Bochum goalkeeper Manuel Riemann hasn’t played since he was suspended by the club following incidents in the dressing room before last season’s relegation play-off games.

But the 36-year-old is now back in training and the suspension has been dropped, the Bundesliga club confirmed on Monday.

The legal proceedings over Riemann’s suspension have been concluded with the parties agreeing to an out-of-court settlement.

“This also includes avoiding further unrest in the current difficult sporting phase, which would have been caused by a public court case,” said VfL Bochum CEO Ilja Kaenzig.

Bochum also made it clear that it wasn’t violence that led to the suspension in the first place.

Riemann, Bochum’s former first-choice goalkeeper, will wear shirt number 31.
