VfL Wolfsburg will travel to Berlin this weekend without Koen Casteels.

At a press conference on Thursday, Wolfsburg coach Niko Kovac revealed that his first-choice goalkeeper will not be available to face Union Berlin.

“Koen Casteels will not be available this weekend due to a back strain,” Kovac said.

This means that Pavao Pervan is in line to make his fifth appearance in the Wolfsburg net.

Kovac also revealed that Maxence Lacroix and Sebastiaan Bornauw were both able to train for the first time this week today, and that he hopes to have Aster Vranckx back in training on Friday following muscular problems.

In addition to Casteels, Lukas Nmecha and Patrick Wimmer will definitely miss out for Wolfsburg.
