Chelsea‘s interest in Yeremay Hernandez has been confirmed from France, with the youngster likely to be initially loaned to RC Strasbourg.
Since Todd Boehly’s takeover in 2022, Chelsea have been attentively scouting highly-rated youngsters from all over the world after changing their transfer strategy and business model.
The latest gem the Blues appear to have unearthed is Deportivo la Coruna youngster Yeremay Hernandez. A Spain U21 international, the left-winger has notched an impressive eight goals and three assists in 18 LaLiga2 appearances so far.

His exploits have firmly put the 22-year-old on the radar of the Stamford Bridge outfit and other European top clubs, with his price making him a very attractive commodity.
Hernandez has a release clause worth just €20 million and this appears to be an opportunity too good to pass up as far as Chelsea are concerned.

Chelsea to send Hernandez to Strasbourg
However, Chelsea already have a host of wide options in their squad, albeit Mykhailo Mudryk is still missing due to his provisional doping ban. L’Equipe therefore reports that the Blues could initially send Hernandez out on loan to Strasbourg.
A potential issue with this plan is that Chelsea have already used up their three-player loan limit with their BlueCo affiliates from Ligue 1, with Caleb Wiley, Djordje Petrovic and Andrey Santos currently playing for the Alsatians.

This means that one player will have to be recalled to make way for Hernandez. American left-back Wiley recently underwent shoulder surgery and is the most likely candidate to be recalled given that he is set to be sidelined for some time.
Strasbourg’s boss Liam Rosenior is said to be keen to link up with Hernandez. Strasbourg’s current left-wing options include Chelsea flop Diego Moreira, though he has primarily featured at left-back in the absence of Wiley.
Sebastian Nanasi has impressed as a left-midfielder for Strasbourg this term. However, he is also capable of playing in an attacking midfield role, which would open up space for Hernandez.
