Chelsea fans have been told to give Nicolas Jackson time, with his start to life at the club compared with Didier Drogba.
The 22-year-old joined the Blues in a £32million move from Villarreal in the summer.
Jackson impressed during pre-season netting twice, but has scored just once in his opening six Premier League games.
He shone on his Premier League debut in the 1-1 draw against Liverpool in August, and continues to show glimpses of his true potential.
The forward failed to score in the 1-0 defeat against Aston Villa over the weekend, but Scott Minto believes he has what it takes to be become one of the best – just like Drogba.
Speaking to talkSPORT, the former Chelsea defender said: “I really like Nicolas Jackson, and I think if you give him time, he will be a top Premier League striker.
“I look at him and his strong, he is fast, he has defenders hanging off him, he’s sharp, and wants to work back for the team.
“The only thing he is lacking at the moment, is sticking the ball in the back of the net.
“Didier Drogba, when he first came to Chelsea, some of the fans weren’t having him straight away. He took time to settle.
“I really like him [Jackson], and I am telling you there is a really good player there.”
Such a comparison to Drogba is certainly one that Jackson can take with great pride given the Ivorian’s iconic status in west London.
The former Ivory Coast international scored 164 goals for the club and was crucial in their first ever Champions League triumph in 2012, with four Premier League titles also coming his way.
Drogba was famous for causing havoc against opposition defences and having an eye for goal.
Chelsea fans will be hoping that Jackson can replicate such success at the club amid their struggles with other strikers in previous seasons.
