Chelsea injuries

Enzo Fernandez

Enzo Fernandez has been fully fit for the majority of this season, but the Argentina international has now joined the long list of absentees at Stamford Bridge due to an undescribed knock.

During his pre-Everton press conference, Pochettino admitted: “We’ll see, Enzo and Axel are under assessment. They have different types of issues. We don’t believe they are big issues but we will see if they can be available.

“At the moment, for now they are not training with the group after Sheffield United and that is why we don’t know if they can be involved or not on Monday.”

Possible Return Date: 15 April

Axel Disasi

As mentioned with Fernandez, Axel Disasi is also a doubt for the clash with Everton. The Frenchman also has a knock and could miss out on the matchday squad.

Possible Return Date: 15 April

Ben Chilwell

Ben Chilwell picked up a knee injury while on international duty with England in March and he hasn’t featured for Chelsea since.

During his pre-match press conference ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Everton, Pochettino said: “Chilly is in partial training with the team today and we will see if he can be in the squad on the bench for Monday. It is good news but he has not played too much this season.”

Possible Return Date: 15 April

Malo Gusto

Malo Gusto missed the disappointing draw against Sheffield Utd due to illness and fatigue, but he could return to action versus Everton.

The ex-Lyon right-back was not included in Chelsea’s injury report, suggesting he is poised to face Dyche’s team.

Possible Return Date: 15 April

Robert Sanchez

Robert Sanchez has been demoted to second-choice following Djordje Petrovic’s emergence, but the Spaniard will miss the Everton game due to illness anyway.

Possible Return Date: 20 April

Raheem Sterling

Just like Sanchez, Raheem Sterling will also be absent versus Everton due to illness. He could return to face his former club Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final on 20 April.

Possible Return Date: 20 April

Levi Colwill

Levi Colwill is currently out with a toe injury, although he could make a return to action soon.

The FA Cup semi-final may be a touch early given he is yet to partake in team training, but he could feature against Man City after reportedly earmarking the game as his return date.

Possible Return Date: 20 April

Reece James

Having missed the majority of the campaign due to two hamstring injuries, Reece James won’t be rushed back, but the Englishman could feature in the final few games of the season if things go well.

He is continuing rehabilitation as things stand, but a return is on the horizon.

Possible Return Date: April/June

Lesley Ugochukwu

Lesley Ugochukwu hasn’t featured since Christmas Eve due to a hamstring injury, and although he was initially expected to return in early 2024, he is still absent and isn’t due to play again for several weeks.

Pochettino recently admitted: “Lesley is doing his recovery. We will see if in a few weeks he can again be part of the training sessions with the first team. But it is day by day that we are assessing these guys.”

Possible Return Date: Unknown

Christopher Nkunku

Christopher Nkunku has only started two Premier League matches this season, due to persistent injury troubles, and he is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury.

He is yet to return to training and is currently working through a rehab programme. He may play before the season ends, but this is not a guarantee.

Possible Return Date: Unknown
