Enzo Maresca’s job is ‘100%’ safe at Chelsea according to one of the club’s directors despite the Blues’ recent downturn in form.
Chelsea were two points behind leaders Liverpool two months ago but Maresca’s side have since won just two of their following nine matches, leaving them sixth in the Premier League.

The unconvincing results and performances have thrown Maresca under some pressure, particularly with Chelsea having changed managers no less than four times in the last three years.
However, when director Jonathan Goldstein was asked whether the Italian coach would remain in his job for the rest of the season, he replied ‘100%’.
“He’s doing a great job,’ Goldstein told Bloomberg TV. “Chelsea started the season very well. The last six weeks have been, you know, finding their feet a little bit more.
“But Enzo has clearly done a great job in bringing the team together, bringing the talent through. We’re very optimistic for the rest of the season in how [being sixth currently] plays out.”

Chelsea desperate for stability after rollercoaster managerial ride
The backing will come as a welcome relief for Maresca although there was little chance that his job would be in serious danger, having penned a five-year contract upon his appointment last summer.
Having already paid handsomely to sack Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter and Mauricio Pochettino, Chelsea’s BlueCo owners are determined to avoid another period of instability in the dugout.

However, some Chelsea supporters have grown frustrated with Maresca, particularly having seen his sole campaign with Leicester last year also endure a sharp decline after a strong start.
Chelsea still remain just one point outside the top four and are level with Bournemouth knowing that a fifth place finish could still result in Champions League qualification.
Having failed to qualify for the Champions League in any of the seasons since Todd Boehly’s takeover in 2022, a return to Europe’s premier competition would represent impressive progress after a sixth placed finish last year.
