Chelsea pursue BOLD move for Osimhen alternative

Chelsea are among the clubs to have reportedly sent scouts to watch Inter Milan forward Marcus Thuram in action over the last month.

The France international has enjoyed an impressive campaign at San Siro, scoring 15 goals in 36 appearances, and he is being monitored by a host of top Premier League clubs ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

Arsenal are long-term admirers of Thuram, while Chelsea and Liverpool are also interested in completing a summer transfer for the 27-year-old.

In fact, all three clubs have sent scouts to watch Thuram in recent weeks, including during Inter’s 2-0 win over Feyenoord in the Champions League last week, according to TBR Football.

However, despite significant interest in his services, Thuram still has over three years remaining on his current contract at Inter and the Serie A giants are reportedly ready to initiate discussions over an extended deal.

As a result, a summer departure appears slightly unlikely, with Inter determined to retain Thuram’s services for the foreseeable future.

Chelsea to miss out on Marcus Thuram

Although Chelsea aren’t expected to finalise a deal for Thuram during the 2025 summer transfer window, the Blues have been widely tipped to purchase a new centre forward in order to provide competition for Nicolas Jackson.

The Senegal international was without a goal in eight appearances before suffering a hamstring injury in February, and Chelsea have only scored on 16 occasions in 12 Premier League games since 22 December.

As a result, Enzo Maresca’s side are set to purchase a new striker this summer and Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap has been identified as a key target by the west London giants.

Victor Osimhen has also been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, following Chelsea’s failure to agree a deal last summer, while Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres are also of interest to the Blues.
