Chelsea superstar Cole Palmer has reportedly submitted an application to trademark his iconic goal celebration.
The 22-year-old has risen to prominence since leaving boyhood club Manchester City to join Chelsea last summer and he was nominated for the 2024 Ballon d’Or after a stellar debut campaign at Stamford Bridge.
The England international has been widely dubbed as “Cold Palmer” over the past year, thanks to his composed style of play and his now iconic goal celebration, in which he rubs his hands over his arms in order to mimic shivering.

Palmer copied the celebration from his former Man City academy team-mate Morgan Rogers, who debuted it during his time at Middlesbrough.
However, Palmer has made the celebration famous, and while Rogers still celebrates in the same fashion whenever he scores for current club Aston Villa, the Chelsea man is attempting to trademark it, as per The Sun.
The report states that Palmer “wants to use it to flog products including booze, diet drinks, food, clothes, toys, aftershave, cosmetics, razor blades and even cars.”
Furthermore, the Englishman’s application to the Government’s Intellectual Property Office reportedly includes a video of him performing his “cold” celebration.

Palmer first performed his celebration during Chelsea’s 3-2 win over Luton Town in December 2023. He scored a brace at Kenilworth Road, including a sensational finish in which he rolled the ball over Luton goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski before calmly slotting the ball into the back of the net.

Palmer’s nickname was born after the match when Chelsea team-mate Noni Madueke told TNT Sports: “That’s why they call him ‘Cold Palmer’ innit?”
The England star has scored 36 goals and provided 21 assists in 62 appearances for Chelsea, while he now holds the record for the most penalties taken without missing in Premier League history.
Palmer has scored all 12 of his spot-kick attempts in the English top flight, including two versus Tottenham Hotspur last week, and he has now usurped Yaya Toure’s record of 11.
