Viktor Gyokeres has signalled his intention to leave Sporting CP in the summer, putting a number of Premier League clubs on high alert.
Gyokeres has become one of the most coveted strikers ahead of the transfer window thanks to his prolific scoring exploits in Lisbon over the course of 18 months, but particularly this season.

The 26-year-old hitman has 37 goals in 39 games across all competitions this term, plus nine assists.
Chelsea and Arsenal have long been linked with the forward, but Manchester United have entered the race, thanks largely to the presence of Gyokeres’ former mentor Ruben Amorim at Sporting CP.
Portuguese outlet Record has confirmed that the Sweden international has his thoughts currently locked on winning the Liga Portugal title with Sporting, but his intention is to leave the Lisbon side once the campaign is over.

Where will Gyokeres go?
Gyokeres’ destination remains as yet unknown and is likely to be fluid for some months.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is known to be a fan, yet equally he is said to have placed RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko further up his shortlist.
Chelsea are expected to make a big push for the striker, who is expected to be available for a price in the region of €70 million – some way short of the €100m that Sporting were asking for a year ago.

Man Utd are in the running, but without Champions League football and due to the overall feeling of chaos at Amorim’s club, the Red Devils are seen as something of a longshot for Gyokeres presently.
Newcastle should also be considered a real possibility if they are forced into selling Alexander Isak – something the Magpies are naturally unwilling to do.
Gyokeres backed for Premier League stardom
Gyokeres has been widely backed to become a Premier League star.
“At the beginning, I saw that he had a lot of quality, but after a few games and seeing that he scored goals and more goals, along with his mentality and competitiveness, that surprised me a lot,” Jorge Jesus, the former coach of the Portuguese national team and the current boss of Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr said.
“He has been doing very well in the last two years and I think he has the ability to play for a big club, even though for me he already is. He is ready to play anywhere.
“The physical aspect of his game is very strong.”
