Ahead of Bayern’s second leg clash with Arsenal, Eric Dier says he has no problem with the opposition fans booing him.

When Bayern Munich drew 2-2 with Arsenal in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final in London last week, Eric Dier was booed by the home crowd every time he touched the ball.

The reaction from the Arsenal supporters was no surprise to Dier, as he previously played for their rivals Tottenham Hotspur. He didn’t mind either.

“For me, it’s something I actually enjoy! I like rivalries like that in football, it’s quite normal and I expect it. I think it’s fun,” Dier told Bild.

The 30-year-old is looking forward to the return leg and is hoping that Bayern will come out on top in front of their home fans.

“I am really looking forward to the return leg. With our own fans behind us, it’s going to be a great atmosphere. That will help us a lot,” said Dier, who expects Bayern to be less reliant on counter-attacking than in the first leg.

“Two games are never the same, it will be a different game. Both teams want to reach the semifinals. Arsenal are a very good team, we’ll have to defend very well again. But I’m also sure we can cause them problems in possession,” he said.
