Dieter Hecking won in his previous visit to Allianz Arena, but it was back in 2018 with Bayern’s bogey team, Borussia Mönchengladbach (0-3). Now, his team once again scored three goals away at league leaders.

“We weren’t good in the first half hour. Bayern should have scored three or four. We would have been eliminated,” said Hecking after the match in a Sky interview. “But, this team always gets back up. We showed that against Leipzig when we were 3-0 down. And again today.

“When you win 3-2 in Munich, you’d be happy. That was also noticeable in the dressing room. We could’ve increased the score to 4-2 to calm things down. But, at the end of the day, we’re very pleased with the three points.”

Kicker revealed the coach’s strong dressing room message at half-time. “Watch out, boys! You don’t often get the chance to play a whole half against ten men in Munich. We can’t stay too submissive now. We have to be more active, we have to go forward more and attack earlier.”
