Fans have called for Danny Welbeck to be called into England’s next squad after he continued his stunning form against Wolves.
The 33-year-old has been prolific this season, scoring five goals in Brighton‘s nine matches in the Premier League prior to hosting Gary O’Neil’s side, including two in his previous two against Tottenham and Newcastle.
Welbeck took his tally for the season to six with a clinical finish to give Brighton the lead at home to Wolves.
And fans have heaped praise on the ex-Manchester United and Arsenal striker, insisting his bright form has earned him a return to the England squad.
One posted on X: ‘Danny Welbeck in England call up form. Not many would predict this sort of form.’
Another said: ‘Danny Welbeck has to be in the next England squad man, absolute baller #thatguy #brighton #england’.
