Here are 10 players you should consider bringing into your Fantasy Bundesliga team for Matchday 8.
In this Fantasy Bundesliga article, we will not be focusing on the most obvious picks such as Florian Wirtz and Harry Kane.
Instead, we will highlight players with a maximum ownership percentage of 20%, who could offer great value as differentials for Matchday 8.
Benedikt Gimber, Heidenheim (Defender, 6M, 5%)
Costing just 6 million, Gimber has been a solid performer in defense, averaging 139 points per game. With Heidenheim facing Hoffenheim (H) and Kiel (A) in their next games, he’s a solid option if you need a budget player at the back.
Eric Smith, St. Pauli (Defender, 8M, 1%)
As St. Pauli’s set piece taker, Smith looked like an interesting option from the start of the season, but many Fantasy managers sold him after a disappointing start to the season. However, the Swedish centre-back showed against Dortmund that he should still be on your Fantasy radar, setting up a goal that was narrowly disallowed for offside and later scoring with a fantastic long-range strike to finish on 208 points. With games against Wolfsburg and Hoffenheim coming up for St. Pauli, he could be worth a try for 8 million.
Valentin Gendrey, Hoffenheim (Defender, 8M, 1%)
Gendrey was one of our picks last week, and he didn’t disappoint, picking up 217 points, which means that he has now scored a whopping 528 points in his last two games. With Hoffenheim facing games against Heidenheim, St. Pauli and Augsburg, the wing-back remains an excellent option.
Maximilian Mittelstädt, Stuttgart (Defender, 17M, 9%)
Surprisingly, Mittelstädt was rested against Bayern, but he should return to the starting lineup this week at home against Kiel. Having averaged 226 points per game, Mittelstädt could be in for a very productive game with Stuttgart going into the match against Kiel as heavy favorites.
Tom Bischof, Hoffenheim (Midfielder, 5M, 4%)
One of the breakout starts in the Bundesliga so far this season, Bischof has nailed down a starting spot for Hoffenheim. He scored 234 points last time out, costs just 5 million and has games against Heidenheim, St. Pauli and Augsburg coming up.
Angelo Stiller, Stuttgart (Midfielder, 11M, 5%)
The original plan was to include Enzo Millot, but his ownership is too high for the article format, so his Stuttgart teammate Angelo Stiller gets a mention instead. He may not have the same ceiling as Millot, but he has a really solid floor and has averaged a respectable 166 points per game. With Stuttgart facing Kiel at home, it makes sense to invest in the Swabians, and Millot and Stiller appear to be the top midfield picks from Sebastian Hoeness’ side.
Nadiem Amiri, Mainz (Midfielder, 13M, 2%)
Amiri frustrated many Fantasy managers when he saw red against Augsburg on Matchday 4, but after serving a one-match suspension, he has been very good again. The central midfielder has scored over 200 points in every game this season, including in Mainz’s 2-0 loss to Leipzig last week.
Marvin Pieringer, Heidenheim (Striker, 6M, 1%)
Given the tough task of replacing Tim Kleindienst up front for Heidenheim, Pieringer has made a strong start to the season with three goals and two assists in seven Bundesliga games so far. With Heidenheim having a nice run of fixtures coming up, he’s a great budget pick up front.
Tiago Tomas, Wolfsburg (Striker, 7M, 1%)
From one budget striker to another, Tiago Tomas costs one million more. He has established himself as a safe starter up front for Wolfsburg, scored last time out, and has favorable games against St. Pauli, Augsburg, and Heidenheim coming up.
Deniz Undav, Stuttgart (Striker, 13M, 14%)
With Stuttgart playing Kiel at home, it makes sense to bring in one of their strikers – but who should it be? Of their strikers, Undav has the highest average points per game (165) and should be nailed on to start, while Ermedin Demirovic seems to be in greater danger of being rotated out for El Bilal Touré, who just scored a great goal in the Champions League.
