Florian Wirtz REJECTS Premier League transfer

Bayer Leverkusen superstar Florian Wirtz has rejected a summer move to Manchester United, according to reports in Spain.

The 21-year-old is widely expected to secure a big-money transfer during the 2025 summer transfer window, amid significant interest from across Europe, but Ruben Amorim’s side have reportedly been unsuccessful in their bid to sign him.

Man Utd are looking to complete several high-profile transfers in an attempt to bolster the options at Amorim’s disposal, and Wirtz has emerged as a key target in recent weeks.

However, the Red Devils have seen their first offer for Wirtz rejected by the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder, according to El Nacional.

The Germany international is reportedly eager to keep his options open and he isn’t convinced by Man Utd’s ability to fight for major honours in the near future.

Wirtz wants to join a club capable of challenging for the Champions League title on a regular basis, as per El Nacional, and a move to Man Utd is therefore highly unlikely.

Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Real Madrid are also interested in finalising an agreement to sign Wirtz this summer, and they are expected to compete for his signature when the upcoming transfer window opens.

Florian Wirtz latest

The 21-year-old has scored 15 goals and provided 13 assists in 37 appearances across all competitions so far this campaign, and he played an integral role in Leverkusen’s Bundesliga triumph last year.

Wirtz has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €123.2m, the eighth-highest of any player in world football, although his current contract at Bayer Leverkusen runs until 2027, meaning an exit is on the cards this summer.

However, Leverkusen are reportedly hopeful of keeping Wirtz at the club and the Germany star is currently locked in contract extension talks with Xabi Alonso’s side.
