In the search for Dino Toppmöller’s successor at Eintracht Frankfurt, Marco Rose is currently emerging as the clear favourite.

According to Sky Germany, signing the coach will not be as easy as previously reported as he is still under contract with RB Leipzig.

However, the pay-TV channel notes that sporting director Markus Krösche is very impressed with Louis van Gaal’s coaching profile.

Still, the likelihood of the 74-year-old actually taking over as the new head of Eintracht Frankfurt is considered slim.

But the possibility wasn’t completely dismissed. Van Gaal did not respond to an email inquiry from the TV station before the live broadcast.

Alongside coaching sides like FC Barcelona, Manchester United and the Netherlands, van Gaal also earned his stripes in the Bundesliga.

The Amsterdam native was in Bayern Munich’s dugout from 2009 to 2011, where he won both the Bundesliga and a DFB-Pokal title.
