Alejandro Garnacho has been called to leave Manchester United and join Liverpool by Prison Break actor Dominic Purcell.

Purcell famously plays Lincoln Burrows in the show and he is tattooed on Garnacho’s arm, with the Argentine star a huge fan of both the character and Prison Break itself.

Purcell’s comments came after Garnacho’s incredible acrobatic goal in Man Utd’s 3-0 win over Everton on Sunday, which has already been named as Premier League Goal of the Season by many.

Just three minutes into the clash at Goodison Park, Garnacho executed the perfect bicycle kick, with the ball nestling into the far corner past Jordan Pickford’s outstretched arm.

The strike has drawn comparisons to Wayne Rooney’s goal against Manchester City and Cristiano Ronaldo’s strike against Juventus, with the latter perhaps more accurately describing the perfection of Garnacho’s finish.

His effort was praised by the masses on social media and several famous footballers took to Instagram and Twitter to share their appreciation for the genius of Garnacho’s goal.

Purcell was among those to offer his congratulations, something that will likely have brought a smile to the Argentine’s face given the actor is tattooed on his body.

However, the Prison Break star also threw in a jokey comment asking Garnacho to leave Old Trafford for Anfield.

What has been said?

After seeing Garnacho’s strike fly past Pickford, Purcell posted a picture of the goal on his personal Instagram account with the caption: “Well if my face – let’s be real, Lincoln Burrows’ face – is tattooed on someone I’m humbled it’s yours.

“Can I dare say I was there by default when Alejandro scored one of the greatest goals ever witnessed in the English Premier League?

“Congrats to you son, and Manchester United fans. What a beautiful moment. Any chance of a transfer to Liverpool?”

A move to Jurgen Klopp’s side is unlikely, however, given Garnacho’s current contract at Man Utd runs until 2028 and the fact Liverpool currently possess a stacked forward line.
