Christoph Kramer has left Borussia Mönchengladbach after both parties agreed to terminate his contract.
After a total of 10 years with Borussia Mönchengladbach, Christoph Kramer is leaving the club.
The Bundesliga giants announced on Friday that they have agreed with Kramer to terminate his contract.
“For ten years I went to Borussia Park with a smile on my face and never made a secret of what this club, its fans and its staff mean to me,” said Kramer.
“The journey with Borussia has been unbelievable and unique. Unfortunately, it has come to an end, but I’m looking forward to what lies ahead,” continued the 33-year-old.
Gladbach managing director for sport Roland Virkus added:
“Chris has become a real identification figure for this club during his time with us and has been one of the faces that have shaped Borussia Mönchengladbach in recent years, for which we would like to thank him.
“It is now up to Chris to decide what the next steps are for him personally. We will keep all options open for him at the club and would be delighted if he sees his future at Borussia. We will stay in touch and wish Chris all the best for the future, wherever his path takes him.”
Kramer, who won the World Cup with Germany in 2014, played a total of 288 games for Die Fohlen, scoring 11 goals and laying on 14 assists.
He was limited to 16 appearances and 345 minutes of football for the club last season.
