The Deutscher Fussball-Bund, or German Football Association, has handed down a one-match ban to Gladbach’s Jonas Omlin this afternoon.
The sports court of the DfB came to the decision of unsportsmanlike conduct from the player after a review.
Omlin received a straight red card in the 28th-minute of Borussia Monchengladbach’s 3-0 defeat to FC Augsburg last Saturday.
Match referee Florian Exner had no option but to send the Swiss shot-stopper off after a mistimed tackle on Fredrik Jensen.
The 31-year-old will be suspended for Die Fohlen’s trip to face FC Heidenheim on Matchday 24 of the Bundesliga next Saturday.
Tobias Sippel, who replaced Kevin Stoeger after Omlin’s dismissal, looks set to play in goals for Gerardo Seoane’s team.
Alternative goaltender, Moritz Nicolas is already sidelined with a season-ending injury.
