Harry Kane has revealed the Barcelona player he most admired as a child – and it’s not who you might think.
The Bayern Munich star told Spanish media outlet Marca why it was Spain midfielder Sergio Busquets, not Lionel Messi, who most captured his interest.
“When I was young, and even to this day, I loved the way Sergio Busquets played,” he said.
“He’s an incredible player because of how he plays, the way he moves his body and I use him as an example sometimes for how to play in that position, or similar ones.”
Kane put another strong performance as he scored in Bayern Munich’s victory over Manchester United in the Champions League.
And the England captain gave fans an insight into where he gets his inspiration as he heaped praise on Busquets.

“For me, he’s one of the greatest midfielders in history,” he said.
Busquets made the move to Inter Miami in June after 15 years at Barcelona.
Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba also made the move with him and the trio have already made their mark on the club.
Busquets has already helped Miami to a title victory after featuring in their Leagues Cup final victory over Nashville in August.

But Kane added that he felt Busquets’ skill has so often gone unnoticed given some of the players he shares the pitch with.
He said: “I know he’s in Miami now but I’ve always really appreciated him and the fact that he’s been in the shadow of other teammates like Messi, Neymar, Xavi or Iniesta.”
Busquets won nine league titles and three Champions League trophies with Barcelona – and Kane will be hoping to emulate some of that success at Bayern Munich.
“Of course, everyone expects us to win the League but it’s not easy to do. The Bundesliga has grown as a tournament and every year there are better teams. I see it as a difficult competition to win,” he said.
But Kane insists he is relishing the opportunity to make an impact in his new role.
He added: “For me personally, it’s a challenge to win and I want to embrace that feeling.”
