The Gunners endured an initial down period after Arsene Wenger’s departure, but Mikel Arteta has inspired a revolution in recent years and Arsenal look like one of the best teams in world football once again.
Formerly owned by descendants of the Bracewell-Smith and Hill-Wood families, Stan Kroenke acquired a controlling 62% stake in Arsenal back in 2011, before taking full ownership of the club in 2018.

Arsenal have spent a total of €1.5526 billion (€1,552.6 million) on transfers since Kroenke took over in 2011.
His first major signing after becoming the majority shareholder at the Emirates Stadium was Gervinho, although Kroenke sold Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy during his first transfer window at Arsenal.
After years of spending relatively little, Kroenke invested heavily in 2014-15 (€119.2m) and the north London club have not looked back since, rivalling the richest sides in England in regards to spending.
Their biggest spending season came in 2023-24, however. The Gunners spent a whopping €231.6m on new signings, with Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber all joining the club for large fees.
