Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson will miss their next game after receiving his fifth yellow card of the season in the 1-0 defeat against Aston Villa.
The forward signed for the Blues in the summer from Villarreal and has scored just once for the club.
He made his sixth Premier League appearance of the season when Villa travelled to Stamford Bridge.
In four of his first five top-flight matches Jackson was booked by the referee and was given yet another yellow card this weekend.
Jackson stood in front of goalkeeper Emi Martinez as he tried to take a goal-kick and therefore went into the book for dissent.
As a result of it being his fifth yellow card of the season, the 22-year-old will miss their next Premier League match.
He will be absent for Chelsea’s trip against west London rivals Fulham on October 2.
Jackson could have missed their Carabao Cup clash against Brighton on Wednessay, but this season’s rules mean suspensions don’t carry into other domestic competitions.
Before the match against Villa, Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino revealed he spoke to Jackson about his yellow card tally.
However, such words did not seem to work and he will be without the Senegal international next week at Craven Cottage.
Jackson’s yellow card was soon followed by a red card for Malo Gusto after his heavy challenge on Lucas Digne.
Villa then took the lead through Ollie Watkins on the break as Chelsea’s afternoon went from bad to worse.
