Sancho left out again by Man U boss Erik ten Hag

Sancho’s relationship with Dutch manager Erik ten Hag has been strained from the start. The 23-year-old has played only 79 minutes across three substitute appearances this season, while multiple rows with the manager have gone public.

It started last season, when ten Hag made Sancho train alone in the Netherlands during the break for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, during which the Manchester United players not at the tournament held a training camp in Spain. The coach cited “physical and mental” issues as the reason for isolation.

Fast forward to this year, aa Man United faced Arsenal before the recent international break. Sancho was left out of the matchday squad, and ten Hag said it was due to his lack of intensity in training.

Sancho fired back with a strong statement on social media defending himself and denying the coach’s comments. The young Englishman was then made to train by himself again during the international window because he did not apologize for the statement. He has not featured in any games since, including the Champions League clash with Bayern
