Germany? Bayern Munich? Barcelona? Not for outgoing Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp if his wife has anything to do with it.

Klopp rocked Liverpool, and indeed world football, when he announced that he would be in January – something FootballTransfers’ Steve Kay exclusively predicted in August.

The German has won the Premier League and Champions League across his eight seasons at Anfield, and will be in extremely high demand as a free agent.

The DFB have been public in their admiration for the former Borussia Dortmund head coach with Julian Nagelsmann not yet contracted beyond Euro 2024 on home soil, while Bayern and Barca could both be without managers next summer.

Thomas Tuchel and Bayern have ‘mutually agreed’ to part company, while Xavi previously said this season would be his last at Camp Nou, although the club are trying to persuade him otherwise.

Klopp: cooking and dancing!

Naturally, Klopp has been linked with all of the above jobs, and more. But wife Ulla would appear to have other plans for him.

“There’s a few things Ulla told me,” Klopp told Sky Sports News. “I have to learn cooking and a dance class. I said you don’t want me to have a break because if I do that I will start working after four weeks again!

“I should learn cooking probably so I can at least make some breakfast or whatever. This will be the first time in my life where I don’t have a real idea of what I will do and that’s exactly what I want.”

Klopp had planned to have a year hiatus from the game in 2015 when he left Dortmund, but five months later he was in situ at Liverpool, so a truncated break can perhaps be expected.

Ruben Amorim is favourite to replace him at Anfield this summer, with the Sporting CP boss pulling ahead of Brighton’s Robert De Zerbi as the bookies’ favourite.
