Could Lamine Yamal really leave Barcelona to join a Premier League team? According to one report, it is a desperation move that the Spanish club really could take in a bid to relieve their financial difficulties.
According to The Independent, Arsenal and Liverpool “really fancy” signing the Spain international sensation, who at 17 years old is already regarded as one of the best players in the world.
The belief is that Barcelona could sell Lamine Yamal in a bid to comply with Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations after the sale of future TV rights was confirmed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to be inadmissible with regards meeting the club’s economic obligations.
Lamine himself has been forthright about his desire to stay at Camp Nou, but Barcelona were forced to give up Lionel Messi in 2021 in a worrying reminder for fans that a nightmare scenario is not impossible.
But if the teenager really does leave Barcelona, which Premier League club would suit him best? Would a move to Arsenal or Liverpool really help him continue his current trajectory or would a move elsewhere be better?

Of the two clubs that are said to be most active for the winger, Arsenal come out on top with a Club Fit score of 76.
The Gunners can offer him excellent development opportunities but only score four stars in terms of playing style and formation.
So Lamine to Arsenal would not be a bad fit.
SciSports are more sceptical about the worth of him moving to Liverpool, where he gets only one star in terms of potential development but does score better when it comes to playing style and formation.
The Reds’ overall rank is just 68.

Winning silver is Chelsea. Like United, they would struggle to see the best of Lamine, with only two stars in development, but otherwise the London club scores well across the board.
Coming third are Manchester City. SciSports are, surprisingly, sceptical about Lamine’s playing time at the Etihad Stadium, where Pep Guardiola’s squad is packed with talented wingers, yet along with Arsenal, they are one of two clubs that score five stars for development.
