Liverpool line up transfer moves for flying full-backs as Lewis-Skelly delighted

Liverpool are said to be looking at two attacking full-backs for next season, while Arsenal star Myles Lewis-Skelly is overjoyed at joining the England squad in our latest headlines

We’re into the international break now, but there’s still plenty of news around.

Players have been linking up with their countries ahead of the forthcoming World Cup qualifying matches, and when they return we’ll be down to final few weeks of the Premier League season.

Liverpool look set to win their 20th league title, and despite recent disappointments in the Champions League and Carabao Cup they are already planning for next season, while an Arsenal youngster is enjoying his new elevation to the England squad and at Manchester United it is all about matters off the pitch. Liverpool line up two transfers

Liverpool are in regular contact with Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong, per Sport Bild. The Dutchman is said to be eyeing a move the summer with a number of clubs interested.

The wing-back is reported to have a £33.7million release clause in his contract and the Reds have maintained contact with the player. Arne Slot is said to have highlighted his support over a deal last summer.

Frimpong has offered four goals and 11 assists from the right flank in 2024/25, including one of each against Stuttgart this past weekend. The likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City could offer competition for his signature, while the 24-year-old is claimed to prefer a move to England.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez is set to meet with his agents to discuss his future this week, according to reports. The 20-year-old is to debate his options amid interest from Liverpool and Real Madrid.

The left-back is under contract until 2028 but has emerged as a top target for the Reds after making a positive impression for the Cherries. It is claimed while Bournemouth want to keep the young star, there is a degree of acceptance that he will depart in the summer.

Kerkez is said to have been the subject of attention from Anfield for almost a year, with the Reds keeping in close contact with his camp.

Arsenal star’s joy

Arsenal star Myles Lewis-Skelly was named in Thomas Tuchel’s first England squad and the teenager was over the moon with the news.

“I’m buzzing,” Lewis-Skelly said when asked about his call-up. “Honesty I was so elated, just shouting around my house! Obviously I’m excited for what’s coming up, but you’ve always got to stay locked in on the present and not get too attached to the feeling that’s coming later down the line.

“It’s all I can ask for – I’m just so grateful to the team for entrusting me and the boss entrusting me, and I can repay them and be the best version of myself.”

Ratcliffe handed stadium boost

EFL chief Rick Parry has hinted that United’s new stadium could potentially host a future Carabao Cup final as an alternative to Wembley. Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: “Well, it’s always nice to have an alternative.

“And it’s very exciting for the north. So exciting news, positive news. Again from the EFL’s point of view, the more that our biggest clubs grow and thrive, the stronger the game will be.

“So we always look on with interest, but that’s a few years away yet, but having alternatives is never a bad thing.”
