Barcelona substitute Fermin Lopez scored a crucial second-half equaliser for the Spanish champions on Tuesday, as Xavi‘s side twice came from behind to draw 2-2 with Mallorca in Palma.
The hosts first went ahead through Vedat Muriqi in the eighth minute of the match before Brazilian winger Raphinha netted a superb leveller shortly before the break.
Mallorca restored their advantage before the interval however, soaring 2-1 ahead thanks to Abdon Prats’ strike on the stroke of half time.
It looked as though league leaders Barcelona were heading for their first defeat of the season, before 20-year-old academy star Lopez equalised in just his second LaLiga appearance for the club.
Despite rescuing a point, Barcelona could be overtaken by both Girona and bitter rivals Real Madrid on Wednesday, who are one and two points behind the Catalan giants respectively.
