Man Utd already in contact to sign Brazilian star?

Manchester United are already working behind the scenes to sign Atalanta midfielder Ederson at the end of the season, according to Tuttosport.

The Red Devils are expected to invest in the midfield department this summer, considering Christian Eriksen and Casemiro are poised to depart.

A new defensive midfielder could be prioritised and reports claim that the Red Devils are in contact with the player’s entourage over a possible deal.

The club were interested in signing him last summer, but Atalanta’s reluctance to sell meant they chose to sign Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain.

This has not ended the pursuit of the Brazil international and they are prepared to make a renewed approach during the next transfer window.

Atalanta rejected an offer of around €40m from a Premier League club last summer, and they are expected to hold out for a much higher price.

United could face competition from Juventus for the 25-year-old. Manchester City are also keeping tabs on the versatile midfielder.
