The Nigeria international is currently on loan at Turkish Super Lig side Galatasaray, but he is expected to leave Napoli on a permanent deal when the summer transfer window opens next year.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have all been linked with a move for the 25-year-old, however Man Utd have recently entered the race for his signature as they look to purchase a new number nine.

Joshua Zirkzee has struggled since his summer switch to Old Trafford and Ruben Amorim’s side are looking to include the Dutchman in a player-plus-cash swap deal for Osimhen, according to Italian outlet Il Mattino (via Sport Witness).

Man Utd are reportedly aiming to pay €40 million plus Zirkzee to sign Osimhen next summer, although it remains to be seen if Napoli will accept such a deal.

The Serie A giants recently reduced the Nigerian’s release clause to €75m and reports have suggested that any interested party must pay this fee in full to land him in 2025.

Osimhen has eight goals and five assists in 11 appearances across all competitions for Galatasaray this campaign, and his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) now stands at €63.1m.

Rasmus Hojlund to block Victor Osimhen move?

While Man Utd continue to be linked with a move for Osimhen, and Viktor Gyokeres for that matter, Rasmus Hojlund stated his claim for a starting berth with his performance against Bodo/Glimt on Thursday night.

The Denmark international scored a brace during Man Utd’s narrow 3-2 win and he believes Amorim’s arrival could help his development as a player.

“I think the new system and new ideas are suiting my style of play,” Hojlund admitted after the victory over Bodo/Glimt. “I still try to do the same, but obviously we play a different sort of football and system now.

“I’ve played this sort of football, I don’t say it is the same, but a 3-4-3, I used to play that at Atlanta a little bit the same. I just try to do my job every time I step on the pitch. I think I showed last season, with being top scorer for the team, that I can score goals.

“I’m still very young, but obviously I would like to take the responsibility and that’s why I also took the No.9 shirt this year, because I think I want to take it to the next level and the next step. But yeah, I still have a lot to grow. I’m still not the finished article. I’m only 21.”
