Manchester United have reportedly shortlisted Thomas Tuchel as a potential replacement for Erik ten Hag, but the Bayern Munich manager may have other ideas…

The Blues have struggled under Graham Potter then Mauricio Pochettino, but they aren’t the only English giant who are currently sleeping, with Man Utd only three places and six points better off than the Blues in sixth in the Premier League.

‘Unfinished business’

Sir Jim Ratcliffe reportedly considers both Tuchel and Potter as viable alternatives to Ten Hag at Old Trafford, but the Bayern boss is agnostic about what a return to England would look like.

“Thomas Tuchel has never ruled out a return to Chelsea,” reports Sky Germany’s Florian Pletenberg. “He still has the club in his sights. His greatest short-term desire is to return to the Premier League. He doesn’t see his project there as complete yet.

“As reported, he is also interested in the project at Manchester United. In Spain, he wants to coach Barcelona someday.”

The Barcelona job no longer looks available with Xavi U-turning on his decision to leave at the end of the season, while Ratcliffe is reportedly leaning towards giving Ten hag a chance to prove himself.

If Boehly decides to get rid of Pochettino at the end of the season, he may have to eat some humble pie and take Tuchel up on his desire to return.
