Mauricio Pochettino says Chelsea cannot wait to right the wrongs of their 4-1 loss at Liverpool, adding that Jurgen Klopp’s team are a prime example for what they are trying to achieve.

Pochettino cited how his Tottenham team beat Liverpool 4-1 in Klopp’s third season in charge. In the fourth, Liverpool won the Champions League, and in the fifth, they sealed the Premier League.

Chelsea are now looking to take their frustration out of Wolves on Sunday, with Pochettino saying at his Friday press conference: ‘We want the result today. It’s difficult to wait.

‘In the third year of Liverpool, they came to Wembley. We were at Tottenham and beat them 4-1. Nobody said, “Oh, it is the end of the world for Liverpool”. After that, look what happened for them: they won the Premier League, they won the Champions League. In the year four, it started to work.

‘That is why, after six months, I know to play in Liverpool in the situation they are fighting for the Premier League, very consistent in the last few years, a very solid team, with all the circumstances that happened during the game and also saying that we were not good enough and they were better, I think we were there. What we can do is move on and prepare for the next game.’

Pochettino says Chelsea have not left themselves short in the goals department after letting Armando Broja leave for Fulham without signing a striker in January.

Pochettino feels he has enough to trouble opponents such as Wolves on Sunday with Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku and Deivid Washington, who was not sent out on loan.

On Broja, who signed for Fulham on loan on deadline day, Pochettino said: ‘It is a good move for him and I hope he can take the opportunity to play well. The options we have up front is enough.’
