Kylian Mbappe has claimed another victory in his legal battle against PSG as he claims he is still owed €55 million by the Ligue 1 giants.

Mbappe departed the Parc des Princes side in the summer to sign for Real Madrid on a free transfer, much to the frustration of the French side.

He is now locked in a dispute with his former employers, with the 25-year-old attacker claiming that he is still owed a colossal figure in wages and bonuses.

PSG were ordered to pay Mbappe this outstanding amount in September unless a mediation process was undertaken. The player rejected this possibility, leaving the club with nowhere to go but to appeal.

According to L’Equipe, the joint appeals committed of the French League (LFP) has knocked back PSG’s case, although the French champions continue to refuse to pay their former player what he claims to be owed.

Now the case will go to an industrial tribunal, which will lodge a legally binding verdict.

“If the player unfortunately decides to pursue this dispute, the club will be forced to have it judged by the competent courts and to have the damage it has suffered and continues to suffer as a result of the incomprehensible position of its former player recognised,” a PSG spokesperson is quoted as saying.

Mbappe continues to hold a position of significant strength, with PSG’s claims that an agreement was made between themselves and the player unlikely to be sufficient to override the superstar’s contract.

All this is an unwelcome distraction before a big weekend for both parties.

PSG face a crunch Ligue 1 encounter with Marseille on Sunday evening, 24 hours after Kylian Mbappe is expected to turn out in his first Clasico for Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.
