Micah Richards is MISSING from CBS’ Champions League coverage for Bayern Munich vs Manchester United… and Kate Abdo explains the bizarre reason why

  • Micah Richards is meant to be on CBS with the return of Champions League
  • But a conflict in his schedule has his missing from the network on Wednesday
  • Listen to the latest episode of Mail Sport’s podcast It’s All Kicking Off!

Micah Richards is nowhere to be seen for CBS’ Champions League coverage, and host Kate Abdo has explained why he’s missing.

‘It’s certainly a lot quieter in this studio today,’ she cracked before explaining her colleague’s absence, while adding that ‘it surely would have to be something important – maybe an A-list charity gala’ for Richards to skip work.

Abdo then teed up a clip of Richards competing in British game show ‘A League of Their Own’ alongside Jamie Redknapp

In the hilarious clip, the ex-Man City star Richards can be seen clapping his hands before embarking on a slip-and-slide on his belly.

‘He chose that over Champions League football!,’ his CBS colleague Jamie Carragher exclaimed.

‘Seriously?’, Thierry Henry asked.

‘What a clown,’ Carragher added. ‘He would do anything for money, that man.’

Richards’ absence means he’s not in the studio for Manchester United vs. Bayern Munich, while Real Madrid played and beat Union Berlin 1-0 earlier in the day.

Arsenal are also facing PSV in their Champions League return, while Inter Milan are visiting Real Sociedad.
