Premier League pundit Micah Richards has slammed Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund following Manchester United’s FA Cup fifth round exit to Fulham at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Red Devils bowed out of the competition on penalties after a 1-1 scoreline. Hojlund was poor leading the line once more and he was substituted shortly after the hour mark.

Joshua Zirkzee was decent with his dribbling and link-up play in the final third, but the Dutchman did not make any meaningful contribution and never came close to finding the net.

Speaking after the game, Richards said that United had nothing going forward. Zirkzee and Hojlund were working so hard, but lacked the cutting edge required in front of goal.

He said: “They had nothing going forward, Zirkzee and Hojlund were working so hard, but they just didn’t have it. They were a better team when Garnacho came on.”

United are now reliant on the Europa League to save their season. They are currently lying 14th in the league and must win the European competition to qualify for the Champions League.
