Newcastle star hit with bottle during goal celebration at Sheffield United

Newcastle’s Elliot Anderson was struck by a bottle at Bramall Lane during his side’s goal celebrations.

Sven Botman netted his first goal for the club to put the Magpies 3-0 up against Sheffield United inside 35 minutes.

But the celebrations were quickly muted as his teammate was struck by a bottle thrown from the crowd.

Captain Kieran Trippier quickly checked on his teammate who was fortunately not seriously hurt by the incident and duly carried on with the celebrations after.

Botman rounded off a first half of dominance for Eddie Howe’s men, with their other goals coming through Sean Longstaff and Dan Burn.
