Paul Pogba is not looking to return to the Premier League, but several of Europe’s top leagues appeal to him, according to a report.

The 2018 World Cup winner has been without a club since having his contract terminated by Juventus late last year in the wake of a doping suspension.

His initial punishment prohibited Pogba from playing professional football for four years, but his ban was shortened to just 18 months, which means that Pogba could have joined a club in January and returned to the pitch in March.

However, despite persistent links to Marseille, Pogba was never close to making the move to the South of France. He was considered by Roberto de Zerbi and president Pablo Longoria, but it was ultimately decided that signing him wouldn’t be right for the club.

There have also been links with a shock return to Man Utd or a move to rivals Man City, who previously wanted to sign him, but the fact of the matter is that Pogba remains a free agent.

Sky Germany has now provided an update on Pogba’s situation and reports that the 32-year-old is open to a move to the Bundesliga. Generally, Pogba is keen to stay in one of Europe’s top leagues like the Bundesliga, LaLiga or Ligue 1.

In fact, report Florian Plettenberg states that Pogba is ‘hoping’ to receive an offer from Germany, Spain or Italy, although clubs are so far still showing some reluctance.

A return to England or Italy is not on the agenda at present. Pogba is also open to a move to Major League Soccer or the Saudi Pro League, although transfer insider Gianluca di Marzio told the German outlet that the Frenchman would prefer to remain in Europe.

The veteran midfielder is currently keeping himself fit in Miami and is desperate to return to the professional game for the new season. France boss Didier Deschamps certainly believes that Pogba can still get back to his peak form.

“Obviously, we have a strong relationship after everything we have experienced together. He has the mental strength to return to the highest level, but it’s his career; it’s up to him to decide,” Descamps told Telefoot last week.
