Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola believes Jurgen Klopp will return to football following the Liverpool manager’s shock announcement that he will leave the club at the end of the season.
Guardiola and Klopp have developed a legendary rivalry in England, while the duo were also adversaries in Germany prior to their time in the Premier League.
But Guardiola believes we have not seen the end of Klopp, with whom he has formed a close bond.
‘He will not admit it, but he will be back, I know it,’ said Guardiola.
‘Maybe in 10 years time, I don’t know. He said carefully he needs to charge his energy.

‘With his personality, with his energy, he will be back: national team, another team, I don’t know.
‘I think football needs personalities and managers like him.’
On Klopp’s departure, the City boss added: ‘I will sleep better. The days before we played against Liverpool were almost a nightmare.
‘Of course I will miss him. It was a shock, like it was for everyone.
‘We will lose something. We cannot define our period here without him, without Liverpool. It’s impossible.
‘He has been the best rival I have ever had in my life. In Dortmund when I was in Bayern, then here. I think the Premier League are going to miss him, the charisma, the personality and especially the way his teams play. Of course I wish him all the best.

‘He loves the game, you see on the touchline the passion he has. But it is nine years in the same place, the demand is so high. Every moment you think I need to breathe.
‘I didn’t speak with Jurgen but maybe he feels that. Take a break, take a step back and take a perspective on everything I understand completely.
‘I don’t want to compare with him but at Barcelona I had that feeling. I needed the time to find myself.
‘You don’t have time to analyse your life and see what happened. Its another one and another one. Maybe that is the feeling that Jurgen felt.’
