Preview: Strasbourg – PSG

Paris Saint-Germain travel to the Stade de la Meinau on Friday evening, hoping to earn a fourth successive win on the road against Patrick Viera’s Strasbourg.

Luis Enrique’s side will be hoping to react to last weekend’s draw with Brest (2-2) at the Parc des Princes, after letting up a two-goal lead against the third-placed Breton side. Meanwhile, Vieira’s Alsatians drew against Clermont (1-1) shortly after playing against Les Lanciers in the Coupe de France.

With 12 points taken from their last six Ligue 1 games, the home side firmly sit in a mid-table 10th position, with 5 points separating Racing and Stade de Reims who sit in the Europa Conference League spot. Will Vieria’s side be able to start looking up the table rather than over their shoulders at the relegation-fighting pack? Strasbourg are in great form, having not been beaten in their last six matches.

The current Ligue 1 champions will be hoping to keep the pace at the top of the table and extend their six-point lead over OGC Nice before Les Aiglons face Brest on Sunday afternoon.

Can RCSA break PSG’s unstoppable away run?

PSG haven’t lost away from home since February 2023 against Monaco, but they have conceded on both occasions in their last two visits to the Stade de la Meinau. Despite Morocco’s exit from AFCON, it won’t be clear whether Achraf Hakimi returns to action with Les Parisiens – whilst Bradley Barcola will be out with a suspension after a red card against Brest last weekend.
Meanwhile, there will be no reunion for former PSG striker Kevin Gameiro due to a muscle injury, whilst Leo Mothiba and Ismael Doukouré will also be out with injuries for Strasbourg.

Strasbourg vs PSG predicted lineups:

Strasbourg: Sels; Senaya, Perrin, Nyamsi, Sylla, Delaine; Mwanga, Sissoko, Diarra; Emegha, Dion.

PSG: Donnarumma; Zaïre-Emery, Pereira, Marquinhos, Hernandez; Asensio, Ugarte, Vitinha; Dembele, Kolo Muani, Mbappé.
